Gettysburg is the bloodiest battle on U.S. soil. It started when Vicksburg was under siege by worldwide Grant. General Lee thought that he would drive them out by invading the North. There plan was to first invade Harrisonburg, but Lee because saw that Gettysburg was a great place, because all the roads lead into it and it would be easier to gather his army. Stuart was in charge of the South Calvary, which is in charge of keeping lead-in of the position of the Norths army, but he was of causing havoc in some northern towns. In light of Stuarts disappearance General Long channel employ a southern actor named Harrison to spy on the north. With his information the decided to move towards Gettysburg. While this is going on the Northern army was to the north of Gettysburg and Buford, who is in charge of the Northern Calvary Division, saw what the South was doing.On the first day of battle three southern divisions were marching in between Seminary rooftree and Gettysburg. Buford know ing that he need to keep the high ground safe he sent Develin to set up a barricade one street and Gamble to barricade the other. As the three Southern divisions moved on Heath thought that Devilins barricade was made up of local reserves and he decided to attack. To Heaths dismay it was un mounted Calvary that were there to def cease and to make sure that the south didnt move into Corps Hill or Cemetery Ridge. Develin and Gamble held them off long enough. The south then settles in to Seminary Ridge. Ewell was told by Lee to take the corps hill but he doesnt. That was the end of the first day of battle. The south considered it a victory even though nothing came out of the first day. During the first day the 20th Maine under the subordination of Cornel Chamberlain was issued men who refused to fight. They were also told that they were to march towards Gettysburg and to be ready to fight. As they march all but six of the new guys decided that they would fight.

Depression: A Mental Health Condition Essay -- mental and emotional he

Epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of health related situations and events that impact a community (McKenzie, Pinger, & Kotecki, 2008). A common distinguish that impacts a community is printing. imprint is a mental health condition that affects people of all ages. According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (2011), depression is described by a state of sadness and hopelessness. Some symptoms of depression include no interest in workaday activities, fatigue, inability to per strain daily tasks, loss of appetite, and thoughts of suicide (CDC, 2011). There are two main forms of depression. The two types are dysthymia and study depression (CDC, 2011). Dysthymia is a type of depressive discommode that usually continues up to two years. This type of depression is of low-grade mood impairment which does not have a severe and long-lasting impairment on an individuals moods (CDC, 2011, para. 5). The population that is most affected by dysthymia are children and adolescents. Many who suffer from dysthymia can develop a more serious form of depression, which is major depression (CDC, 2011). The symptoms related to major depression include restlessness, difficulty concentrating on daily activities, feeling of helplessness, decreased energy, attempts and thoughts of suicide. The most serious consequence of major depression is suicide (CDC, 2011 NIMH, 2011). As stated by the CDC, depression poses a substantial burden globally- (CDC, 2011, para. 2). Friends and family of a person suffering from depression are as well affected. Relationships amongst an individual and their supported networks diminishes as the individual suffering from depression withdraws from society and becomes isolated (CDC, 2011, para. 2... ...ental Health.
